Does my co-driver need experience?+
No experience is required — the course is straightforward. Their role is timing and navigation assistance.
Does my turbo car need a restrictor?+
No, restrictors are not compulsory.
How do I get scrutineering?+
It depends on whether your vehicle has a Motorsport Australia logbook. With a logbook, complete the compliance forms. Without one, you can attend regional scrutiny (two weeks prior) or event-day scrutiny (1500–1715hrs). Regional scrutiny is recommended to reduce congestion at the venue.
How do I get a start/car number?+
Numbers are assigned at event documentation and published the day before via the seeded entry list on the website. Numbers are based on entry type and shared drivers, and aren't guaranteed to stay the same across events.
Do I need a special rally car?+
No — most road cars are eligible. EVs and open-top vehicles are excluded due to facility requirements.
Is there any gravel?+
No, the course is 100% asphalt.
Do I need a race suit?+
Not mandatory. You will need long, non-flammable clothing that covers from ankle to neck to wrists, and closed shoes.
Will I crash my car?+
That's up to you — how hard you push is your choice, and course conditions are comparable to suburban streets.
Do I need special racing brakes or modifications?+
No — 100% stock cars are common.
Why must I join NSSCC?+
The event operates as a closed-to-club S1 Rallysprint, which is what allows the regulatory freedoms that make it accessible.
If I'm in another club, must I join NSSCC?+
Yes, though Motorsport Australia-affiliated club members may apply for free single-event membership. Full membership is required for juniors.
How do I verify my club affiliation?+
Check motorsport.org.au/clubs, or ask your club president.
Do I need a co-driver?+
It's optional. Single-driver entries are placed in the SD class — eligible for event class awards, but not series points.
What's the minimum age for a co-driver?+
The co-driver must be 14 years or over.
Can't find a co-driver?+
Enter as TBA, or proceed as a single driver (SD class, event awards only).
Do I need scrutiny at every event?+
With a logbook, you provide self-scrutiny forms before each round. Without one, scrutiny is required before each event.
My race car has no passenger seat — can I enter?+
Yes, as a driver-only entry (see the single-driver question above).
Are there noise restrictions?+
The venue is Sydney Dragway — unless you're louder than a top-fuel dragster, you'll be fine.

What licence do I need?+
No civil licence is required, but you will need a Motorsport Australia Speed Licence or higher.
What is the Gravel Tyre Class?+
A new class for 2025/26 for gravel-tyre entries. Eligible for event class awards, but not for series points or end-of-season awards. Driver + co-driver teams only — single drivers aren't eligible for this class.
